The Samsung Galaxy S20 series received significantly more flak than its predecessors for its Exynos 990 SoC. While the rest of the smartphone was on par with other high-end alternatives, it seems that time hasn't been kind to the now ageing flagship. Popular YouTuber C4ETech and Sammobile stumbled upon multiple instances of displays failing on the Galaxy S20+.
Many users have taken to Twitter and Samsung Members to express their frustration about the Galaxy S20+. It seems that a green/pink vertical line has appeared on the screen. Some say that it appeared after installing the One UI 4.1 update, while others noticed it showing up out of the blue. Samsung is yet to officially acknowledge the issue, which seems to be ongoing for months.
Some of the complaints on the Samsung Members app date back to January 2021, indicating that it could be a hardware issue. To make matters worse, many Galaxy S20+ owners found out that their warranties had expired right before the green line showed up, meaning that they had to churn out not-so-insignificant amounts of money to get it fixed.
