Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 5G will feature the same 25W EP-TA800 fast charger as the Galaxy S20: 0 to 50 percent charging in 30 minutes
Samsung’s Galaxy Fold 2 5G, the successor to the original Galaxy Fold, was recently spotted clearing the 3C certification process. The 3C database listing provides details about the Galaxy Fold 2 5G’s charging setup. It looks like the upcoming foldable will feature a 25W charger, codenamed EP-TA800.
The presence of the EP-TA800 is good news for those looking for a quick charging experience. This is the same charger Samsung packs in with the Galaxy S20, Galaxy A71, and the premium Galaxy Note 10. While it isn’t quite as fast as Galaxy S20 Ultra’s 45W charger, the EP-TA800 gets the Samsung Galaxy S20 to 50 percent in just 30 minutes. If the Galaxy Fold 2 5G features a similar battery capacity to the S20, we should see comparable charging times.
The Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 5G is expected to feature a thinner bezel, allowing for a larger 7.7-in display compared to the original Galaxy Fold. The thinner design does raise questions, however, considering how fragile the original Galaxy Fold was.
