If you are looking for a large screen phone then Galaxy C9 Pro is a great choice. It looks premium, has powerful hardware to handle various tasks and amazing camera. But if you are not fond of a large screen then OnePlus 3T is a great contender.

At Php 27,990, the Samsung Galaxy C9 Pro certainly isn’t the most affordable device in the market and its price might be its major hurdle to finding success; nearly breaching flagship pricing territory. As good as the C9 Pro may be, buyers may opt to look at other options from the Korean brand, such as: the Samsung Galaxy A7 (2017), which is capable phone in its own right and has IP68 certification in case you get caught in the rain, or some may even opt to save up a little longer to purchase the Samsung Galaxy S8.

Samsung Galaxy C9 Pro is aimed at phablet lovers, who don’t mind the big 6-inch display and want a phone that looks good. If your primary aim is video consumption, be it on Facebook or YouTube, etc, this device can easily live up to those tasks and it delivers well. The camera is also one of the better ones in the price range, though the low-light performance is weak. The main concern though, for a lot of users will be the price tag, which I feel is on the higher side, given what the competition is offering.

The Galaxy C9 Pro's main USP is the fact that it gives you a 6-inch screen, 6 gigs of RAM, 16MP front and rear cameras, and a 4,000mAh battery. When you look at it, in all its totality, the C9 Pro looks like a complete package. It is, for the most part. But, then you look at its price - Rs 36,900 - and reality hits you. It hits you really hard. Add a couple of thousand more and you enter the flagship terrain. Samsung's own Galaxy S8 is the best case scenario at around Rs 40,000. Lose a couple of thousand and you enter the mid-tier flagship terrain. Samsung's own Galaxy A7 2017 is the best case scenario at around Rs 35,000. The Galaxy C9 Pro just doesn't add up.

As for the actual performance of the phone? It feels rather quick – while Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 653 may be getting a little long in the tooth, it’s still a great performer for the price. You’ll probably not going to complain about the C9 Pro’s performance at all, as the chipset is perfectly capable of running most games and apps without slowing down.

Samsung Galaxy C9 Pro misses out on certain features but won't really disappoint you in any way. Based on the performance, it can be pitched against the formidable competitors in the market such as the OnePlus 3T or Moto Z. Fortunately, the smartphone has more hits than misses when it comes to features. Although full-HD display, mid-range processor and the inability to record videos in 4K resolution may come as a deal-breaker for many, its powerful battery, SuperAMOLED display quality, sleek build and a decent camera are enough to add up to something compelling.

Overall, I think the Galaxy C9 Pro works great for an entertainment device. The 6GB RAM and 6-inch Full HD display really adds a lot to the experience, accompanied by the dual speakers. What’s more, it’s sleek enough to be carried around in your pocket and it charges fast too. But that can’t be said the same to the camera section, it really need a lot of lighting to make the pictures look awesome, but at least selfie pictures are quite flawless so there’s that. If only they added in an optical image stabilizer (OIS), then it'd be perfect.

This is the first time when writing the final verdict feels knotty. There are some pros and cons in every smartphone. It all comes down to whether the cons lead the user experience or the pros. The performance of C9 Pro is undoubtedly great. Camera performance is also great. The smartphone looks premium and packs a vivid display which is easily visible in direct sunlight. However, there are some minute issues which do affect the overall user experience too much, heating for example. Indeed the Samsung Galaxy C9 Pro is a great device, but there are other devices available in market which will be a bang for your buck.

Although Samsung is still the biggest smartphone company in India by market share, it has proven to be less agile than the multitude of Chinese companies which have entered India over the past few years. Xiaomi, Lenovo, Oppo, Vivo and others release new models every six months or so, and with each cycle, better hardware is squeezed into tighter budgets.

Samsung played a huge part in carving the phablet niche out of nothing with its Note series. Of course, up until recently, having a 6+inch phone seemed like an outlandish idea. But now that users are finally warming to the idea of having the biggest possible screen in their pocket, there is no better time for Samsung to have another go at this segment. And so we have the Galaxy C9 Pro.

At a price tag of Rs. 36,900, the Galaxy C9 Pro is definitely costly compared to other smartphones in the range, including the OnePlus 3 that offers better performance and a better camera at a cheaper rate.Samsung says that the phone is manufactured in India, but still their mid-range smartphones are costly.

Samsung Galaxy C9 Pro can be a good alternative to its sibling Samsung Galaxy A9 Pro since both the devices are the same 6.0-inch size. It is available for ₹36,900 in Gold, Gold Pink, and Black color variants.

The Samsung Galaxy C9 Pro is hands down the best "big screen" smartphone you can buy right now. It has oodles of RAM and the Snapdragon 653 inside is fast. The phone is fluid and doesn't skip a beat in any way, except for a weak camera. It's expensive, but if you want a premium phablet, this is the phone to buy.

Qualcomm Adreno 510: Integrated graphics card based on the Adreno 500 architecture, like the Adreno 520 in the Snapdragon 820. Performance should be on average similar to the old Adreno 330 in the Snapdragon 801. Supports DirectX12, OpenCL 2.0, OpenGL ES 3.1 + AE.

It is a very small display format for smartphones. You should by no means be mis-sighted and you will generally see very little on the screen and only have a small resolution available. In return, the device should be very small and handy.

76.75%: This rating is not earth-shattering. This rating must actually be seen as average, since there are about as many devices with worse ratings as better ones. A purchase recommendation can only be seen with a lot of goodwill, unless it is about websites that generally rate strictly.
