Reviews for the Coolpad Cool Play 6

Coolpad Cool Play 6 review: Great overall performance, dual-cameras
Source: The Indian Express English Archive.org version
Coolpad Cool Pay 6 is a pretty great smartphone when you look at the overall performance. Given the price-point, the device won’t disappoint people who’re into smartphone gaming and dual rear cameras are an added advantage. However, the sub-15k segment is growing rapidly and there’s a ton of other options to choose from as well.

Coolpad Cool Play 6 Review – Brute Force, Dual Cameras
Source: Gadget Diary English Archive.org version
The Cool Play 6 includes loads of hardware to justify its price tag of Rs. 14,999. This is the only phone in this budget that has Snapdragon 653 chipset and 6GB RAM. The bottom line is that this is a good option for gaming enthusiasts who are restricted by a budget.

76% Coolpad Cool Play 6 Review
Source: Think Digit English Archive.org version
The Coolpad Play 6 is a decent smartphone, but so many dual-camera phones available in the budget range, it has a tough hill to climb. The camera doesn't bring about much improvement over last year's Coolpad Cool 1, and unfortunately competitors have surpassed this already. 6GB RAM and the Snapdragon 653 chipset is still difficult to ignore though.

80% Coolpad Cool Play 6 Review
Source: NDTV Gadgets English Archive.org version
From the looks of it, the Coolpad Cool Play 6 is a performance-focused device. The Snapdragon 653 SoC along with 6GB of RAM can pretty much brute force its way through anything you throw at it. Also, there is more internal storage than what you get with other smartphones at this price. With Journey UI, Coolpad has brought its phones closer to the stock Android experience than before. However, camera performance is strictly average and the wait to charge the battery can be annoying.

The CoolPad Cool Play 6 definitely offers an all rounding package with a decent display, battery efficient processor, 6GB RAM, above average camera and huge 4060mAh battery. At Rs. 14,999, this Cool Play 6 is definitely a bang for the buck. It is available exclusively from Amazon.in.

86% Coolpad Cool Play 6 review – Another cool upgraded handset with dual cameras
Source: Gogi.in English Archive.org version
Another very good handset from Coolpad, you can call this an upgraded version of the Cool 1. Everything is good about this handset and so is the price. There are black borders on screen if you do not like them then go for the black color Coolpad Cool Play 6. A very good option to buy, may be you would want to wait for few more days before deciding.

50% Coolpad Cool Play 6: Walks the walk, but fails to talk the talk
Source: Gadgets Now English Archive.org version
The Coolpad Cool Play 6 offers premium design packaged, a considerable battery life and a good dual rear camera - probably one of the best bokeh effects we have seen for smartphones in this price segment. But, the app crashes and heating problems are major issues that one cannot ignore and therefore we cannot recommend the device fully. If you are looking for a smartphone in Rs 14,000 - Rs 16,000 bracket, the Nokia 6 or Moto G5 Plus could perhaps be better alternatives.

Coolpad Cool Play 6 First Impressions : Needs UI update
Source: The Mobile Indian English Archive.org version
Coolpad Cool Play 6 has been priced aggressively and comes with impressive specs but it needs updates to perform smoothly. We hope the retail units which will be put up for sale perform as per the claims made by the company because the test unit that we used provided just decent performance.

Qualcomm Adreno 510: Integrated graphics card based on the Adreno 500 architecture, like the Adreno 520 in the Snapdragon 820. Performance should be on average similar to the old Adreno 330 in the Snapdragon 801. Supports DirectX12, OpenCL 2.0, OpenGL ES 3.1 + AE.

Only some 3D games with very low demands are playable with these cards.

» Further information can be found in our Comparison of Mobile Graphics Cards and the corresponding Benchmark List.

652 MSM8976: Upper middle class ARM based SoC with 8 CPU cores (64 Bit Cortex A72 and A53 mixture) and a Adreno 510 GPU.» Further information can be found in our Comparison of Mobile Processsors.

5.50":

It is a very small display format for smartphones. You should by no means be mis-sighted and you will generally see very little on the screen and only have a small resolution available. In return, the device should be very small and handy.

» To find out how fine a display is, see our DPI List.

Coolpad:

Smartphones from Germany are marketed under this brand. The market shares are very low, especially outside of the German-speaking areas. There are only few reviews and the ratings are below-average (as of 2016).

73%: This rating is poor. More than three quarters of the models are rated better. That is rather not a purchase recommendation. Even if verbal ratings in this area do not sound that bad ("sufficient" or "satisfactory"), they are usually euphemisms that disguise a classification as a below-average laptop.
