Samsung All-in-One Pro announced as new Apple iMac competitor with Intel Core Ultra processor, metal design and larger 4K display
Samsung has presented a new alternative to the iMac, which Apple refreshed last October with its Apple M3 chipset (curr. $1,149 on Amazon). For context, almost a year has passed since Samsung unveiled its previous all-in-one (AIO) desktop. In summary, the DM530AFA-LC71W offered up to an Intel Core i7-1360P processor, as well as a 23.8-inch and 1080p IPS display.
By contrast, the All-in-One Pro sports a 27-inch display that outputs at 3,840 x 2,160 pixels (4K) in a 16:9 aspect ratio. Additionally, Samsung equips the new AIO with an Intel Meteor Lake processor, which should provide noticeable CPU and GPU performance improvements over the Core i7-1360P. Unfortunately, the company has not confirmed what processor options will be available for the All-in-One Pro at launch.
Likewise, Samsung has not shared a full specification sheet yet, nor is a product listing live yet in any capacity. Nonetheless, the desktop is expected to start with 16 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage, plus a modest wireless keyboard and mouse combination. Moreover, the All-in-One Pro supports Bluetooth 5.3 and Wi-Fi 6E connectivity, as well as various Samsung Galaxy ecosystem features like Multi Control, Quick Share and Second Screen. The All-in-One Pro will be available from KRW 1.99 million (~$886) in South Korea on April 22; Samsung has not shared details of a global release yet, though.
