Roborock has teased a new robot vacuum with a built-in robotic arm for the Chinese market: the G30 Space. Images and a video showing the model have been shared on the brand’s Weibo account, and the company claims that it will be an industry-first.
The G30 Space has a five-axis mechanical arm, which seems to extend from and fold away into the main body. One video indicates that the arm has a built-in camera, possibly to detect or identify items. However, it is unclear precisely how the arm will be used or what its limitations may be. It has been suggested that the tool could be used to pick up objects or even open a door further.
Also shown on the brand’s Weibo page is the G30 robot vacuum. While this model lacks the robotic arm, it has a slim 7.98 cm (~3.1 inches) body, meaning it can easily fit under furniture. That makes it thinner than the Roborock Qrevo Slim, which measures 8.2 cm (~3.23 inches); this model launched last year and it is currently available at Amazon for $999.99.
The Roborock G30 Space robot vacuum will be unveiled alongside other models at a global launch event on January 8th. When the product will launch and at what price remains to be seen. Plus, the company has not yet announced any plans to bring this new technology to other markets worldwide.
