New Redmi Note 10 teasers have claimed that the upcoming potential midrange smartphone champion will have a display that is as bright as the screen of the iPhone 12 Pro and certainly way beyond that of the Redmi Note 9. The teasers have sparked renewed speculation that the Redmi Note 10 will feature an OLED screen instead of an LCD like its predecessor.

The Redmi Note 10 hype train has entered another station on its journey to launch on March 4. This time, both Manu Kumar Jain (Xiaomi India boss) and Redmi India have posted teasers onto their Twitter feeds, with Jain helping followers guess how bright the Redmi Note 10 is going to be. While the Redmi India post simply states “upcoming Redmi Note 10 series will feature one of the brightest displays ever seen on a Redmi Note”, the Xiaomi executive went a bit further by offering the clue “as bright as _ _ 12 Pro”.

If the Redmi Note 10 is really as bright as the iPhone 12 Pro then that will mean potentially reaching a maximum brightness of 1,200 nits (HDR) with a typical maximum brightness of 800 nits. This would be a considerable step-up from the Redmi Note 9, which has a typical brightness of 450 nits, although this depends on the region variant and model. This brightness increase for the Redmi Note 10 has led many commenters to declare that the midrange smartphone will definitely have an OLED or AMOLED panel, but this is yet to be officially confirmed or refuted.

The high brightness level and comparison with the Apple iPhone 12 Pro does seem to point to the Redmi Note 10 featuring an OLED screen, which should satisfy many fans of the Redmi brand. Other rumored specifications for the 5G variant of the Redmi Note 10 include a Snapdragon 750G chip, a 5,050-mAh battery, and possible RAM and storage configurations of 4 GB + 64 GB and 6 GB + 64 GB. Interestingly, it has been reported that the Redmi Note 10 Pro model might actually come with an IPS LCD panel capable of a 120 Hz refresh rate.
