Realme has officially confirmed on the Chinese social network Weibo that the Realme GT 8 Pro will be unveiled in October. A teaser image already shows the outline of an odd-looking camera module, which can be seen in more detail in a render image shared by the relatively reliable leaker Digital Chat Station.
The leaker emphasizes that this image does not come directly from Realme, so the final design could differ slightly from this picture. However, based on Realme's teaser image, it's plausible that at least the shape of the camera module is final. It houses three cameras, a rectangular cutout for the periscope telephoto camera and two LED flashes that flank the cameras. While Realme has not yet commented on the flagship's specifications, rumors point to an interesting and unusual camera setup.
The Realme GT 8 Pro supposedly sports a 50MP main camera, a 50MP ultrawide camera and a 200MP periscope telephoto camera. These cameras are rumored to be developed in collaboration with Ricoh, so the camera module may come with a Ricoh logo. Whether this means that some interesting new features from the Ricoh GR IV are also onboard remains to be seen.
In any case, the camera flagship is rumored to offer a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a particularly high refresh rate of 165Hz. The battery could have a capacity of 7,000mAh and charging speed of up to 120 watts via USB-C. A Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 Elite is allegedly providing the necessary computing power, which would make the Realme GT 8 Pro one of the fastest smartphones on the market.
