He spent match after match navigating tight chokepoints on different maps, squeezing out as many kills as possible with the jeep’s mounted machine gun. Progress was slow – and often frustrating – especially when teammates unknowingly drove off with the vehicle, taking the determined gunner with them. In the end, it took around two hours of play each day for more than a month to finally reach rank 50.

The reward was a unique Mastery skin, covered in barbed wire, ammo boxes and a rugged, battle-worn design. It also unlocked a bold red profile badge that proudly displays the achievement to other players – one u/Renegade_Soviet says he will never remove.

Some players have pointed out that Mastery skins may actually affect vehicle performance – most notably with the infantry fighting vehicle. After equipping the skin, the vehicle appears to gain a new weak spot at the front, making it noticeably easier to destroy. If a hard-earned reward ends up putting players at a disadvantage, it’s understandably frustrating. A fix from the developers is clearly needed.
