Deal | RTX 4060-powered Acer Swift X OLED is one of few good sub-$1000 laptop deals available currently

The laptop market is in a pretty rough spot right now due to the current RAM and storage prices. Not only has this resulted in more expensive notebooks, but it has also seemingly taken a toll on the quality and frequency of laptop discounts. It is now much harder than last year to find a big price cut on a good laptop. That said, there are still good deals to be had, like B&H Photo’s current Acer Swift X 14 (SF14-72G) discount.
The Acer Swift X 14 under question is now only $949.99 at B&H Photo (linked at the end). This is a massive $550 price cut, as the laptop is retailing for $1,449.73 on Amazon.
Specs-wise, the Acer Swift X 14 on sale packs a 16-core Intel Core Ultra 7 155H CPU, an RTX 4060 laptop GPU, 16 GB of LPDDR5X-6400 memory, and a 1 TB NVMe SSD. The storage drive is user-replaceable. The system is powered by a 76 Wh battery, which should result in a decent battery life.
Around the front, the Acer Swift X 14 carries a 14.5-inch OLED display. The panel is plenty sharp at 2,880x,1800, and boasts a smooth 120 Hz refresh rate. We have tested this exact display on the 2023 Acer Swift X and found the display to be quite pleasing. The OLED panel can reach just under 400 nits of SDR and up to 600 nits of HDR brightness, with an infinite contrast ratio and full coverage of DCI-P3 color gamut.
In other words, the 1800p OLED panel on the Acer Swift X 14 is more than capable enough for both content consumption and production. For the latter, the laptop is well-equipped with a decently powerful RTX 4060 and the Core Ultra 7 155H. This CPU and GPU should ensure plenty of productivity and 1080p gaming performance.
Our performance testing of the RTX 4060 laptop GPU shows that the GPU is only 14% slower than the latest RTX 5060 laptop GPU in 3DMark Time Spy Graphics. The RTX 4060 laptop also looks quite appealing when we consider that the RTX 5060 laptop also doesn’t have any VRAM advantage. Nvidia has seemingly resolved the VRAM issue of the RTX 5070 laptop with the introduction of the 12 GB RTX 5070 laptop. So, we hope the RTX 5060 laptop also gets a refresh with more VRAM.
Last but not least, the Acer Swift X 14 also has a decent port selection with:
- Two Type-A ports
- Two Thunderbolt 4 ports
- One HDMI out
- One 3.5 mm audio jack
- A microSD card reader
Since the Acer Swift X 14 on sale largely resembles its 2023 predecessor, we highly recommend checking out our full review of the Acer Swift X 14 (SF14-71G) to understand the pros and cons of the machine.
