Quiet PC is a company that specializes in fanless and silent PC builds, adopting the latest technologies to eliminate noise-producing mechanisms as much as possible. With the increasing popularity of SFF PCs, the company’s initial focus on desktop PCs recently expanded with silent solutions for mini PCs coming in Intel’s NUC form-factor. Some NUC-sized mini PCs are silent from factory since they are powered by ULV processors, but for more powerful CPUs such as the Meteor Lake Ultra models, Quiet PC provides a solution based on the acclaimed Akasa Turing RC Pro case specifically tailored for the NUC 14 chassis from Asus.
The Akasa case is quite a bit bulkier than the NUC chassis, but it is still compact enough compared to mini ITX builds, plus it eliminates the need for the high-pitched fans that most of the time cannot be controlled. Quiet PC offers CPU choices including Core 3 100U, Core Ultra 5 125H and Core Ultra 7 155H. Thanks to the Intel Arc Alchemist iGPUs featured in the Ultra CPUs, these silent builds can easily act as decent gaming devices, if need be.
RAM configurations include 16 / 32 / 64 GB DDR5 options from Corsair. The storage solution can include up to 8 TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe M.2 + up to 8 TB SATA SSD. Quiet PC even offers external DVD Re-Writers, the necessary peripherals or monitors.
Port selection is standard for NUC 14 and comes with 1x USB-C 3.2 Gen2x2 (20Gbps), 2x USB-A 3.2 Gen2 in front, while the rear side packs 2x Thunderbolt 4, 1x USB-A 3.2 Gen 2, 1x USB 2.0, 2x HDMI 2.1 (TMDS) and a 2.5 GbE port. Wireless connectivity is available via a Wi-Fi 6E + BT 5.3 card.
Prices are competitive. A Core Ultra 7 155H with 32 GB RAM and 1 TB SSD plus 2-year warranty costs 1263.42 EUR, which is a fair price considering that the Asus NUC 14 Pro+ mini PC alone is around 1000 EUR.
