Purported LG G8 renders surface and are promptly debunked by LG
Two days ago, reputable tipster OnLeaks revealed what was touted to be the upcoming LG G8. LG has put paid to those rumors, however, with the company’s Head of Global Corporate Communications, Ken Hong, debunking the renders as false and just “speculative rendering”.
According to OnLeaks, though, the revealed device actually does exist, but it’s just not the LG G8 as initially thought. Instead, it will likely be some other high-end phone by LG. The back of the device resembles that of the LG V30, while the front has the same notch seen on the G7 ThinQ. There’s also the presence of two selfie cameras, just like on the V40 ThinQ.
Speaking of the LG G8, details of the devices haven’t exactly been forthcoming. Rumors have it that it will feature an in-display speaker technology, though. We’re not sure how useful that’ll be, but new tech is always nice. The G7 was launched in May last year but rumors claim the G8 could be released earlier this time around. We expect it to be powered by a Snapdragon 855 and to feature a triple rear camera setup, like the V40 ThinQ.
