LG G8 ThinQ expected to arrive at MWC

LG G8 concept render, launch might take place at MWC 2019

Although LG failed to unveil the G7 flagship at MWC, as usual, it looks like the upcoming LG G8 ThinQ might arrive just in time for the yearly trade show in Barcelona. This means that the LG G8 could launch alongside a new Xiaomi flagship and just a few days after the Samsung Galaxy S10.

Until last year, LG used to launch the new G-series flagships in Barcelona, during the Mobile World Congress. However, the South Korean giant failed to do so with the LG G7 ThinQ and unveiled it in May instead. Since the successor of the LG G7 was not present at CES, it will probably be unleashed during this year's Mobile World Congress tech show.

Since nothing is official yet, LG could delay the launch of the LG G8 ThinQ by a month or two and that could be a rather inspired move. Samsung has recently confirmed an Unpacked event for February 20 in San Francisco, and it is almost certain that the Galaxy S10 lineup will be finally released there.

More than just arriving a few days after the release of the long-awaited Galaxy S10, the LG G8 ThinQ would also need to compete with a new Xiaomi handset, which is rumored to be also announced at MWC 2019 and even on the same day. LG could also try to steal Samsung's thunder with an early February unveil, but many recent rumors mentioned March as the release date for the G8 ThinQ.

What are you expecting from the LG G8 ThinQ? Should it be foldable, or just a new flagship with a classic design without any notch, but with 5G connectivity, a Snapdragon 855 processor, and improved AI features?
