Production of a 16-inch MacBook Pro rumored to start in the final quarter of 2019
Although it is almost certain that those who are waiting for a new MacBook will not get it before 2020 kicks in, it seems that Apple will start making a 16-inch MacBook Pro before the end of this calendar year.
Sadly, there is not much to say about the specs of the upcoming MacBook Pro, but there are some bits and pieces worthy of our attention. The upcoming 16-inch portable is expected to feature an all-new design that will probably involve a next-gen display with very thin bezels, maybe alongside a whole new keyboard with more touch-sensitive area or even an entire touchscreen that could act both as a keyboard and touchpad. The resolution of the main display is expected to hit at least 3,072 x 1,920 pixels.
According to a recent report that surfaced online on the Taiwanese website Economic Daily, local supplier Radiant Opto-Electronics will be the exclusive backlight module supplier for the 16-inch MacBook Pro. The same report also revealed that a new iPad will enter production this month and will use a backlight module from the same brand.
All the above should be taken with a grain of salt for now, but one thing is certain: new iPads and MacBooks are coming. Remains to see when are they going to hit the market, what's new, and if Apple will be able to price them low enough to make them a worthy choice for as many potential customers as possible.
