The sought-after RTX 3070 configuration of the popular Lenovo Legion 5 Pro 16 has drawn much closer to the magical US$1,000 price mark in Walmart's ongoing Black Friday sales event, which includes a notable discount for this well-equipped 16-inch gaming laptop.

In most cases, powerful gaming laptops with a decent display and a quick dedicated graphics card like the RTX 3070 carry a rather lofty price tag of way above the US$1,000 mark. However, patient gamers who have set their sights on Lenovo's quite popular Legion 5 Pro series of gaming notebooks can now snag a well-equipped configuration of this 16-inch machine for its lowest sale price in recent history.

Walmart currently sells the Lenovo Legion 5 Pro 16 variant with the fast AMD Ryzen 7 5800H octa-core processor and the aforementioned Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 with 8GB GDDR6 VRAM and a high peak TGP of 140 watts for just US$1,099. This gaming laptop also comes with 16GB of DDR4 memory, an adequately sized 512GB SSD and a good-looking QHD display with a 165Hz refresh rate. In comparison to Amazon's current price for this particular model of the Lenovo Legion 5 Pro series, this sale offers potential savings of US$400 or roughly 27%.

We thoroughly tested a very similar configuration of the Lenovo Legion 5 Pro last year, and we for example liked the bright and color-accurate IPS display, the well-functioning cooling system as well as the robust chassis. Furthermore, the 16-inch gaming laptop is easy to open and maintain, and its battery life reached a very respectable seven hours during our WiFi websurfing test with activated hybrid mode. Overall, the RTX 3070-powered Lenovo Legion 5 Pro is a well-rounded and powerful notebook that should serve gamers well for years to come.
