On April 10, 2025, newly founded studio Onibi unveiled Tomo: Endless Blue, an ambitious online RPG that brings together several fan-favorite elements – monster taming, procedurally generated islands, creative voxel building and fully scalable multiplayer. Even the first trailer taps into a sense of nostalgia: in one scene, a mysterious creature is captured, clearly echoing Pokémon. Later, players reshape the landscape and build homes, strongly reminiscent of Minecraft. It’s no surprise French YouTuber KELYAN is already excited:
"As a Pokémon and Minecraft YouTuber, this is the game I've always dreamed of."
Islands full of possibilities: Creative freedom, tactical battles and an open server structure
Tomo features a vibrant anime-inspired style and a world made up of an endless ocean dotted with floating islands. Each island is procedurally generated, offering its own architecture, culture and unique quests. Players can explore these islands, challenge powerful Tomo champions, uncover ancient ruins or hunt for mythical Tomo creatures.
The Tomo are more than just combat partners. Much like in Palworld, they assist with building, cooking and farming. In battle, they shine through a tactical real-time system that lets players make strategic use of their abilities. One standout feature is the ability to switch seamlessly between player and Tomo perspectives, allowing for dynamic interactions with the environment – like combining water and electricity for powerful area attacks.
Thanks to realistic voxel physics, the world isn’t just customizable – it’s also fully interactive. Players can build machines and vehicles, from basic rafts to pilotable airships. Multiplayer in Endless Blue is completely open. Whether you play solo, via LAN or on global servers, the only limits are your hardware or server capacity. As the Steam page puts it:
"There’s no limit on the number of players—it’s as many as your device or server can take!"
The game will also be fully moddable:
"We’ve kept it all open, so go ahead and break the game. If your dream is to replace all Tomo creatures with handsome pigeons playing illegal poker hands, then so be it. The world is your oyster!"
Promising development team, release date still unclear
Although Onibi is a fresh name in the industry, the team behind Tomo: Endless Blue brings serious experience, with past credits on titles like World of Warcraft, Baldur's Gate 3, Fortnite, League of Legends and Fall Guys. That pedigree sets high expectations for quality. There’s no official release date yet, but the team is aiming for a PC launch via Steam by the end of 2026. The game is already listed and can be added to your wishlist.
