Ayaneo continues to reveal details about the Pocket Ace, which will eventually serve as a less powerful but smaller alternative to its Pocket S2 gaming handheld. Various specifications about both devices are already known. Ayaneo has not confirmed when either will be available, though.
On the face of it, it would seem that the Pocket S2 would launch first. Although Ayaneo has not indicated as much, it unveiled the Pocket S2 before lifting the lid on the Pocket Ace. However, the company has not said anything since about the Pocket S2.
By contrast, Ayaneo has now published its Indiegogo pre-launch page for the Pocket Ace. Thus, it looks like the Pocket Ace will be Ayaneo's next Android gaming handheld, having released the Pocket Micro Classic last month. Ultimately, the Pocket Ace will only be about as powerful as the existing Pocket S (curr. $554.95 on Amazon) thanks to its Snapdragon G3x Gen 2 chipset.
With that being said, the Pocket Ace will be a fair bit smaller than the Pocket S and Pocket S2. For reference, Ayaneo has decided to complement Qualcomm's Snapdragon G3x Gen 2 chipset with a 6,000 mAh battery and a 4.5-inch IPS display that resolves at 1,620 x 1,080 pixels in a 3:2 aspect ratio. While Ayaneo has not confirmed pricing or availability yet, you can sign up to receive more details on the company's Indiegogo pre-launch campaign page.
