The image shows a previously unknown Huawei device with a metal housing and fingerprint scanner.

An image of an unknown Huawei smartphone has appeared just a month before IFA 2015 and is even expected to make an official appearance at the event this year.

While there is currently no technical information or model number, the screenshot shows a very large display and a rear fingerprint scanner. The extremely thin bezel suggests a nearly edge-to-edge screen that may even be phablet sized. Contrary to previous assumptions, the smartphone is likely not part of the Huawei D-series and will likely not have a Force Tough Display. A video claims this to be a prototype for the Honor 7, but of course this is unconfirmed information.

Similar to many other high-end smartphones, the unknown Huawei device appears to have a metal chassis as well. We should know more about this mysterious model in the coming weeks at the IFA event in Berlin. The Chinese manufacturer is also set to announce a new smartphone sometime this week.
