Chinese manufacturer Huawei has sent out press invitations for an event on August 10, 2015. Details on what the new device will be, however, remain a mystery.
For now, it appears unlikely that Huawei will reveal the Mate 8 flagship. A more likely option is the Honor 7 Plus, which would offer not just a metal casing, but also a 5.5-inch FHD screen, a fingerprint scanner, a Kirin processor, 3 GB RAM, and 16 GB eMMC.
In contrast to the Honor 7 Plus, a potential Honor 8 could be even better. In addition to a larger 6-inch QHD screen, the smartphone could carry 4 GB RAM, 64 GB eMMC, a fingerprint scanner, and a rear 20.7 MP camera.
The two new devices are expected to launch in Asian markets first, but their official reveal and announcement times are unknown.
