Pebble Pace Pro: New smartwatch launches with a 1.7-inch display and IP68 certification at a budget price
Pebble has launched the Pace Pro, a budget smartwatch that is available through Amazon India. With a 1.7-inch display, the Pebble Pace Pro is much larger than competing smartwatches, even if it looks an awful lot like an Apple Watch knock-off. Pebble has dispensed with a digital crown for a single physical button, though.
Additionally, the Pebble Pace Pro is IP68 certified against dust and water. For context, the IP rating means that the Pebble Pace Pro is dust tight and is waterproof in up to 1 metre of water, typically for at least 30 minutes. Moreover, Pebble claims to have equipped the Pace Pro with optical sensors that accurately measure your blood pressure, blood oxygen saturation and heart rate. Pebble has not explained what sensors it uses, so it remains to be seen how accurate they are.
Incidentally, Pebble has equipped the Pace Pro with a 230 mAh battery. Supposedly, the battery should yield up to 15 days of battery life between charges. The smartwatch lacks GPS or LTE modules though, for reference. The Pebble Pace Pro is orderable now on Amazon India in multiple colours. Currently, the retailer is selling the smartwatch for INR 2,999 (~US$40), including taxes. Typically, the wearable retails for INR 4,999 (~US$67), for reference.
