Reviews for the Panasonic Toughbook CF-54MK1

80% Panasonic Toughbook 54 Review: Rugged but Rough Around the Edges
Source: Notebookreview.com English
Panasonic labels this Toughbook as a “semi-rugged” laptop and that’s a fair description of what enterprise and government clients can expect. Despite the MIL-STD-810G certification and spill-resistant keyboard, you may find the CF-54 isn’t ideal for deployment in environments that are prone to excessive moisture ore frequent exposure to fine dirt and sand. The optical drive and power jack aren’t fully sealed and the keyboard won’t play nice in extremely messy locations.

Intel HD Graphics 5500: Integrated graphics card (GT2) in the Core processors of the Broadwell U-series (15 W TDP).

Non demanding games should be playable with these graphics cards.

5300U: Broadwell-based ULV (ultra low voltage) dual-core processor for notebooks and ultrabooks. Offers an integrated HD Graphics 5500 GPU and is manufactured in 14 nm.» Further information can be found in our Comparison of Mobile Processsors.

14":

Above all, this display size is used for subnotebooks, ultrabooks and convertibles. For all three types, this size is quite large. The biggest variety of subnotebooks is represented with this size.

Large display-sizes allow higher resolutions. So, details like letters are bigger. On the other hand, the power consumption is lower with small screen diagonals and the devices are smaller, more lightweight and cheaper.

2 kg:

This weight is typical for very big tablets, subnotebooks, ultrabooks and convertibles with a 11-13 inch display-diagonal.

Panasonic: Panasonic Corporation, formerly known as Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd., is a multinational corporation based in Japan. Its main business is in electronics manufacturing and produces products under a variety of names including Panasonic and Technics. Since its founding in 1918, it grew to become the largest Japanese electronics producer. In addition to electronics, Panasonic offers non-electronic products and services such as home renovation services. Panasonic is an international notebook manufacturer, but with rather small market shares and few laptop reviews. Panasonic concentrates its notebook sortiment primarily to the niche of ruggedized notebooks, which are made for rough outdoor usage.

From 2013-2016, Panasonic has primarily offered tablets and, to a lesser extent, also smartphones. However, there are only few smartphone reviews.

80%: This rating is not convincing. The laptop is evaluated below average, this is not really a recommendation for purchase.
