Panasonic Connect has unveiled the PT-RQ45K 3-Chip DLP Projector. This company is part of the wider Panasonic group, focusing on products for public service, entertainment and infrastructure sectors.
According to the PT-RQ45K’s product page, it is the world’s smallest and lightest projector to deliver up to 40,000 ANSI lumens brightness. This is via a multi-laser light source, with two blue lasers and one red laser. The company notes that this level of brightness is achieved when the Picture Mode is set to Dynamic, the Light Power is set to Normal, and an ET-D3LES250 lens is attached.
The PT-RQ45K has a 4K (3840 x 2400 px) resolution with support for up to 1080p@240Hz. The throw ratio depends on the lens used, ranging from 0.364:1 for the ET-D75LE95 up to 13.8:1 for the ET-D3LET80. There is a 5-inch color LCD monitor, which is said to make tasks like pre-show checks easier. Other features include the Real-Time Tracking Projection Mapping system, Gradation Smoother and Black Level Correction. Plus, there are connectivity options like an Intel SDM standard-compatible expansion slot and 12G-SDI input. The model measures 598 x 353 x 780 mm (~23.5 x 13.9 x 30.7 inches) and weighs 70 kg (~155 lbs) or less.
The Panasonic PT-RQ45K 3-Chip DLP Projector will be released in Europe in Q3 CY2026, sometime between July and September. It is also expected to launch in North America, where it is currently marketed as “Coming Soon”.
