PUBG Season 6 releasing January 25, brings a new Karakin map, Motor Glider, Survivor Pass, and more
PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG) is getting a new update on PC and console. Update 6.1 brings new weapons, new action, and a new North African map, Karakin. Karakin can support up to 64 players and features a new hazard called the Black Zone that can randomly raze towns and compounds to the ground.
Also available in this update is a Sticky Bomb that can be used on 'breach points' in certain walls and floors for destruction. Weak walls can now allow for bullet penetration so you have more options to kill your enemies. Apart from fighting on land, players can also take to the skies in a new Motor Glider, which is now available on the Erangel and Miramar maps. The Glider offers two seats — one for the pilot and one for the passenger, who can shoot from the glider.
The new update also brings a Survivor Pass: Shakedown battle progression system. The Survivor Pass features community missions, season missions, progression missions, and challenge missions. Completing these missions can unlock in-game rewards and reveal the hidden story of Karakin island.
PUBG Season 6 is now available on the test server and is slated to hit PCs and consoles on January 25. The devs note that existing maps will be rotated in slots to provide stable matchmaking times. In the first rotation, Vikendi will rotate out for Karakin. For more information about upcoming changes, check out the changelog in the Source link below.
