The drive comes with a thin CNC aluminum heatsink designed to fit within the confines of the Sony Playstation 5 console. Maximum sequential transfer rates can reach 7000 MB/s read and 6600 MB/s write.

Amazon is currently running a sale on the Sabrent Rocket 4 Plus series of PCIe4 x4 NVMe SSDs ranging from 500 GB up to 2 TB capacities. The new prices are as follows:

  • 500 GB: $84 USD (down from $99)
  • 1 TB: $152 USD (down from $179)
  • 2 TB: $280 USD (down from $499)

All options come with a flat aluminum heatsink that can fit inside PCs, PS5s, and most laptops. A five-year manufacturer warranty is included as well if owners decide to register their purchases with Sabrent online.

At $152 for a 1 TB, however, the Sabrent Rocket 4 Plus isn't necessarily the least expensive PCIe4 drive. The competing 1 TB Samsung 980 Pro can currently be found online for $149 while the 1 TB ADATA XPG Gammix S70 was on sale just earlier this month for only $119. The ADATA drive in particular offers even faster sequential read and write rates than the Sabrent albeit it had issues maintaining such fast rates for extended periods based on our review. Consequently, users intending to install the Sabrent on PCs may want to invest in a larger heatsink if sustaining maximum transfer rates is a priority. For PS5 users where read speeds won't be as fast, however, the included thin heatsink will likely be more than enough.
