Oura Ring 4 leaks with new design and sensor adjustments
The Samsung Galaxy Ring has only just gone on sale and Android Authority has just discovered one of its most exciting competitors during a certification process. After the third-generation Oura Smart Ring was officially unveiled in October 2021, the manufacturer is now apparently planning the launch of its successor, which bears the model number "OA11".
The certification literally calls the ring "Oura Ring 4", so the identity of this ring is beyond doubt. The same certification also mentions a model called "OA12", which could be a design variant of the ring. The Oura Ring 4 "OA11' shown in the photos embedded below has a fundamentally revised design compared to the Oura Gen 3 and the Oura Gen 3 Horizon.

This is because the middle part of the ring is slightly raised and there a gradation on both sides instead of the smooth transition into the frame, as was the case on the previous model. While the outer part of the housing is apparently made of metal, the sensor cover is once again made of a transparent material, presumably synthetic resin.
The sensor arrangement has been revised, but it is not yet known whether additional sensors will be installed in addition to the skin temperature, SpO2 and heart rate sensors of the Oura Gen 3. The Oura Ring 4 will be available in at least sizes 7 to 15. So far, no details are known about the launch date, price or expected upgrades of the next generation smart ring.
