Origin's new EON15-S gaming notebook features a GTX 1050 Ti at an affordable price
Laptop enthusiasts looking for an inexpensive gaming solution now have a new option, courtesy of Origin. The company has refreshed its EON15-S gaming notebook with a new Nvidia graphics card. Previously running a GeForce GTX 980M, the EON15-S now sports a current-gen GTX 1050 Ti. With the budget graphics comes an equally budget-friendly price tag—only $999.
With a price that low, it's not unreasonable to expect entry-level specs across the board. Besides the 4 GB GTX 1050 Ti, $999 gets buyers the following:
- 15.6-inch 1920x1080 IPS matte display
- Intel Core i3-7100H dual-core 3.0 GHz processor
- 8 GB Kingston HyperX Impact DDR4 2133 MHz RAM
- 120 GB SSD storage
- Windows 10 Home Edition
- Integrated HD audio powered by Sound Blaster Cinema 3 software
- Intel Dual-Band Wireless-AC 3168 wireless card + Bluetooth
- 2 USB 3.1 ports (one Type-C)
- Media card reader
- 2.0-megapixel FHD integrated camera
Very basic specs, to be sure. For buyers with a bit of flexibility in their budgets, upgrading to an Intel Core i5-7300HQ quad-core processor, 16 GB of DDR4 RAM, and a 240 GB SSD adds just over $150 to the final price, but is well worth it.
The EON15-S comes in a variety of colors, including Metallic Red, White, Atmos Blue, and Horizon Yellow, as well as several designs, such as True Fire, Battle-Tested, and Shredder Green. The laptop features a backlit keyboard, fingerprint reader, and multi-gesture touchpad. Origin is currently giving away a game bundle along with every purchase (which games are included is not specified).
You can get the EON15-S at Origin's official website.
