Origin unveils the EON17-SLX laptop with dual wielding graphics cards
In addition to introducing the 3D-enabled EON17-X3D and overclocked EON17-S laptops earlier this year, the Miami, FL, USA-headquartered tech company Origin PC is now adding a new member to its portfolio of gaming notebooks. Called EON17-SLX, this high-performance portable device has a starting price of $1,877 and features (among other things) an HD audio, exclusive A-Panel design and free lifetime 24/7 support.
As you probably know, the outfit is specialized in building custom gaming/professional desktop and notebook computers. Apparently, its latest product comes equipped with a 17.3-inch LED-backlit widescreen display of Full HD (1920-by-1080 pixels) native resolution and up to a Dual 4GB GDDR5 NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680M GPU. The laptop is powered by up to an overclocked Quad-Core Intel Core i7-3920XM Extreme Edition central processing unit operating at a frequency of 4.1GHz - 4.5GHz (the base model, however, sports an Intel Core i5-3320M chip) and can alternatively be configured with a Dual 2GB GDDR5 AMD Radeon HD 7970M graphics card.
Origin claims the EON17-SLX houses up to 32GB of 1333MHz DDR3 RAM (4x8GB), up to two HDDs with a storage capacity of 1TB each, a 40GB/80GB Intel 310 Series mSATA SSD and a Blu-ray Writer (the optical drive bay can be utilized to mount another hard drive). Furthermore, this powerful notebook offers an Intel Centrino Ultimate-N 6300 802.11 a/b/g/n and Bluetooth modules, four USB 3.0 ports, an HDMI 1.4a interface with HDCP, S/PDIF, an eSATA port, media card reader slot, optional TV Tuner and a built-in 2.0MP web camera.
Based on a 64-bit Windows 7 OS, the EON17-SLX gaming laptop features an integrated HD audio with THX TruStudio Pro (up to 7.1 Channel support) and an illuminated keyboard with three different lighting zones and seven colour options.
