Ubisoft officially released Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 back in 2019 to quite favorable reviews. Critics have praised The Division 2 for fixing practically all issues that plagued the first game while refining the gameplay loop and game mechanics. The general consensus is that The Division 2 is a pretty fun game to play, and you can now play it for just $2.99.
Coinciding with the launch of the game’s newest expansion, Battle for Brooklyn, The Division 2 is now only $2.99 on Steam for a limited time. This is a 90% discount on the $29.99 asking price (linked at the end).
Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 mixes an open world with third-person shooting
The key gameplay loop in The Division 2 is cover-based third-person shooting and collecting loot. Players can approach the combat in a few different ways, combining skills with different weapon types to complement their unique play style.
As for the setting, the main story campaign of The Division 2 takes place in a post-apocalyptic, open-world Washington, DC, ravaged by a deadly virus and environmental disasters. The storyline has players complete missions solo or with up to four friends. During their playthrough, players collect and level up weapons and gear. There are also 8 different skills that players can unlock and later modify.
Once you have completed the main storyline, The Division 2 also has an extensive endgame where you can engage in different modes like PVP. Ubisoft also releases regular content updates throughout the year, giving players new missions and activities to complete.
Moreover, The Division 2 now has two expansions:
- Warlords of New York
- Battle for Brooklyn
Both expansions are also available on Steam
The Division 2 system requirements
While The Division 2 looks quite nice, the system requirements aren’t demanding. The officially “Recommended” system requirements on Steam mandate:
- A Ryzen 5 1500X or Core i7-4790 or newer CPU
- 8 GB of memory
- A RX 480 4 GB or GTX 970 4 GB or better GPU
In short, people with a last-gen CPU like the Ryzen 5 7600 and a budget GPU like an RX 7600 are well-equipped for running The Division 2 at high frame rates.
