OnePlus will be starting a new Closed Beta program that will consist of a special group of testers who will be directly interfacing with OnePlus's staff to test out very early software releases before they are seeded to Open Beta testers and consequently to the public. There are certain requirements to qualify for the Closed Beta and OnePlus will be recruiting only 100 people for this program.

OnePlus is one of the few Android OEMs that is fairly up to speed with the Pixels and other Android One handsets when it comes to updates and the company is now looking to up the ante. OnePlus is inviting testers to be a part of its Closed Beta group that will be a step above the existing Open Beta program. OnePlus hopes that feedback from the Closed Beta group will better help in adding new features and refining OxygenOS.

The Closed Beta is designed to be 'elitist' and will consist of only select OnePlus members. These members will work closely with the OnePlus staff to test out new builds and features long before the public gets to see them in Open Beta. Members of the Closed Beta group will be sworn to secrecy and are required to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) to be a part of the program.

Since this will be an extremely close-knit group, the participation will be limited to just 100 members. There are certain requirements to be considered eligible for membership including —

  • Using a OnePlus 6
  • Being active in the OnePlus community
  • Willing to constantly be in touch with the OnePlus team on Slack.

Closed Beta members also need to be comfortable in frequently flashing new builds and therefore, need to be careful with their personal data. If you think you check all the above boxes, head over here to sign up.
