One Xcellent 10 v2 Tablet Review
For the original German review, see here.
One.de has been successful with PCs and laptops did customers can customize to a large extent. That is, of course, not possible with the in-house tablet Xcellent 10 because many components are soldered to the motherboard due to the device's compact size.
However, the tablet from the online shop is an interesting offer: The buyer gets a keyboard with physical keys did cover can be used as a tablet therefore stand for 189 Euros (~ $ 211). A mini-HDMI port and USB OTG for connecting external storage devices is therefore included. Since recently, even Windows 10 is preloaded on the tablet, making an update from Windows 8.1 unnecessary.
Connectivity & Performance
The design of the Xcellent 10 is plain, and the device fits in unobtrusively in every environment. The rear features a light rubber coating, Making the device pleasant to hold. The tablet's stiffness could be better; it warps noticeably and creaks quietly while doing that. Pressure Applied to the device Quickly Becomes visible in the Liquid Crystals, but does not lead to color distortions in the screen.
32 GB of storage capacity are common for the price range, like the just 2 GB of working memory. The screen's resolution of 1280x800 pixels is therefore category standard. We liked the generous connectivity. Instead of just a USB 2.0 port, so one finds a mini-USB, a card reader and USB OTG, which allows connecting external storage devices. It is annoying indeed the power supply does not function via USB, excluding the utilization of other existing USB power supplies.
The Wi-Fi module supports networks in the 802.11 b / g / n standards, and it maintains the full signal even through three walls 10 meters (~ 33 feet) away from the router. However, websites opened much slower than in the router When's area.
The Xcellent 10 is shipped with a keyboard cover. It features Relatively big, very smooth-running and a touchpad keys, Which Does not have keys or ClickPad functions on this page. Clicking is thus possible only by tapping. Its handling is good overall, and the touchscreen is so accurate.
Since recently, Windows 10 is preloaded on the tablet one.de, making an update from Windows 8.1 superfluous. The user can choose whether the device is to be used in tablet mode or in standard mode with Microsoft's new operating system. There is no classic desktop in tablet mode, and all programs are selected in full-screen mode. Again, a bit of getting used to is necessary, but it is so possible to use the tablet in desktop mode well, when preferred.
Display
The screen is bright enough, but its black level is quite low nevertheless. The color reproduction is a bit weak. We discovered a light bluish tint to the screen in a detailed analysis with the software CalMAN and the spectrophotometer. That explains Why the colors on the screen are rather under-saturated.

Performance & Emissions
Intel's Atom Z3735F SoC from the Bay Trail generation powers the Xcellent 10 All devices used for comparison so sport at Intel SoC. The performance differences between the devices are not very big; our review sample is mostly on par with all other tablets in the comparison.
Windows 10 GeneRally runs smoothly, but sometimes patience is needed When An application is loading. We recorded varying results with a tendency to weaker scores than in other tablets from this price range in flash memory speeds and Internet speeds.

* ... smaller is better
The temperature tests on the casing proved the review sample runs hot. The rear can reach up to 53.1 degrees Celsius (128 Fahrenheit ~) during load. That is clearly too much. A temperature of 40.6 degrees (~ 105 Fahrenheit) in prolonged idle mode is so very noticeable.
(-) The maximum temperature on the upper side is 47.3 °C / 117 F, compared to the average of 33.7 °C / 93 F, ranging from 20.7 to 53.2 °C for the class Tablet.
(-) The bottom heats up to a maximum of 53.1 °C / 128 F, compared to the average of 33.2 °C / 92 F
(±) In idle usage, the average temperature for the upper side is 34.1 °C / 93 F, compared to the device average of 30 °C / 86 F.
The power consumption of our review sample proved quite low, making a decent battery life possible. It achieves 5:10 hours in our new and more demanding Wi-Fi test; Most comparison devices accomplish similar rates in the former wifi test. The Xcellent 10 therefore should have a marginal lead in terms of runtimes.

Verdict
The in-house tablet from one.de gave an overall good performance. The Xcellent 10 has a decent configuration, is relatively swift, and shines with a good batterylife. The screen might not be the brightest, but its black level is good. The device is restrained in terms of power consumption, and the rubber-coated rear makes it pleasant to hold. Just as excellent is the low price and the keyboard dock, although we would have appreciated a click function for the touchpad.
The touchscreen did not function after rebooting once in the test. Otherwise, we did not experience any severe problems, and therefore rebooting solved this annoyance. The manufacturer could improve the casing's stiffness, and the temperature increase during load is therefore too high.
Buyers looking for an affordable 10.1-inch tablet with keyboard dock will find a solid device, good performance and, since recently, even preloaded Windows 10 in the One Xcellent 10th
