One UI 2.5 update now rolling out for the Samsung Galaxy S10e, Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10+, Galaxy Note 10 and Galaxy Note 10+ in some regions
Samsung released the latest iteration of its Android Fork -One UI 2.5- alongside the Galaxy Note 20 series. The software is now making its way to older devices, starting with the Galaxy S20 line of phones. Some Galaxy S10 and Galaxy Note 10 users appear to be at the receiving end of the update.
One UI 2.5 is rolling out for all three Galaxy S10 phones via a 964MB update. As always, Samsung is testing the update in Germany. Some reports indicate that the Galaxy Note 10, Galaxy Note 10+, and Galaxy Note 10 Lite have also received it. Galaxy S9 and Galaxy Note 9 users will have to bit a bit longer, though.
Unlike its predecessor One UI 2.1, One UI 2.5 isn't nearly as feature-rich. However, it does bring forth some exciting features like Wireless DeX, which lets you enjoy a full DeX experience on compatible smart TVs without worrying about wires. Other features include new Pro Video mode functions, the ability to broadcast SOS messages at fixed time intervals, and more.
Given that the One UI 2.5 update for Samsung's Galaxy S10 and Galaxy Note 10 phones is bundled with the September 2020 security patch, its global rollout should wrap up before the month ends. However, this apples only to Exynos variants of the phones. Snapdragon-powered versions might have to wait a bit longer.
