Official Dell website hinting at unannounced Latitude 7290, 7390, and 7490 notebooks
The flagship Dell Latitude 7000 series is currently home to three core traditional notebooks: the 12.5-inch Latitude 7280, 13.3-inch Latitude 7380, and 14-inch Latitude 7480. As our individual reviews have shown, each model packs in a plethora of features and configuration options that an Ultrabook of equivalent screen size can only dream of.
It's inevitable that successors to the 2017 12.5-inch to 14-inch range would be on the way for 2018. While Dell has yet to officially comment on next year's lineup, the official English product page for a Latitude DK400 accessory kit may have already spilled the beans. Our screen capture below shows the DK400 backpack as being compatible with the Latitude 7280, 7380, 7480, 7290, 7390, and 7490 notebooks. The last three, of course, are unknown systems at the time of writing.
The listing could have simply made an error, but this is rather unlikely given how close we are to CES 2018 next month. December is typically the period where leaks and hints begin to creep up in anticipation for the trade show and this appears to be no different. If true, we can likely expect a refresh of sorts for the Latitude 7x80 series into the unconfirmed 7x90 series. A full design reboot, however, is probably out of the question given that Dell only recently fully refreshed the 7x80 series from the older 2016 7x70 series.
We'll be sure to stop by the Dell floor at next year's CES to confirm the ongoing rumors. Until then, take the vague listing with a grain of salt.
