Dell Vostro 14 5471 with 8th generation Intel Core i7 processor now up for pre-order
A new Dell Vostro notebook has just hit the market in China and, if we take a closer look at it, we can already conclude that it shouldn't ever pass the border. The specs are fine, no worries in that department, but the design doesn't look right. Think of a failed experiment that involved the design teams from both Asus and Dell and you get the idea.
Anyway, there are quite a few models listed as available for pre-order right now starting at CN¥5,499 (about US$831), so let us take a closer look at their main specs:
- Vostro 14-5471-D1505S: Intel Core i5-8250U, UMA iGPU, 4 GB RAM, 256 GB SSD
- Vostro 14-5471-D1505G: Intel Core i5-8250U, UMA iGPU, 4 GB RAM, 256 GB SSD

- Vostro 14-5471-D1525G: Intel Core i5-8250U, AMD R530 dGPU, 4 GB RAM, 128 GB SSD + 1 TB HDD
- Vostro 14-5471-D1545S: Intel Core i5-8250U, AMD R530 dGPU, 8 GB RAM, 128 GB SSD + 1 TB HDD
- Vostro 14-5471-D1745G: Intel Core i7-8550U, AMD R530 dGPU, 8 GB RAM, 128 GB SSD + 1 TB HDD
In addition to the specs above and the Windows 10 operating system that comes installed on all the Vostro 14-5471 models above, we should also mention the 14-inch IPS display, the two USB 3.1 Type-A ports, and one Type-C, as well as the single HDMI 2.0 output. The list of storage options includes a 512 GB M.2 SSD and up to 32 GB RAM. Sadly, there is nothing to do about the design, but some vinyl stickers might help a bit. A lot of vinyl stickers, in fact.
