Fully-functional Android devices that can fold down as small as the Galaxy Z Flip4 and its forebears are still few and far between on the global market. However, Samsung's clamshell option might see a challenge to its market dominance in more countries soon, as possible evidence of an international release for the OPPO Find N2 Flip has come to light.
The best indication that OPPO is nearly ready to bring its first-gen, yet potentially compelling, horizontal foldable to markets in which the OEM is active besides China is the appearance of the N2 Flip on the Global Certification Forum's (GCF) website.
The GCF is the group that issues 3GPP certifications, and as such outlines the N2 Flip, listed by name and with a typically 'global' OPPO model number (CPH2437), in terms of its cellular connectivity in exhaustive detail.
Therefore, an interested consumer could check the new database entry for compatibility with the 5G bands in their area - presuming that the Find N2 Flip really does make it there, of course.
Meanwhile, the clamshell has also allegedly been certified by Thailand's analogous NBTC regulator, in a possible additional step towards global availability.
