Future AMD and Nvidia GPU generations have surfaced in a presentation
An alleged GPU roadmap reportedly presented by a Broadcom executive references Nvidia's future RTX 80 series and AMD's RDNA 7 architecture. However, numerous inconsistencies, including references to cancelled products and incorrect GPU generations, seriously undermine its accuracy.

An alleged GPU roadmap has surfaced online, referencing Nvidia’s future RTX 80 series and AMD’s RDNA 7 architecture. While the document seems to offer a glimpse of upcoming graphics hardware, several inconsistencies suggest its contents could be outdated or inaccurate. The information comes from Moore’s Law is Dead, who claims to have obtained the presentation from a trusted source. Apparently, a senior Broadcom executive displayed the roadmap during a presentation attended by hundreds of people.

Perhaps the most interesting detail is the apparent association between Nvidia’s Feynman architecture and the GeForce RTX 80 series. Nvidia has already confirmed Feynman as its next-generation data centre architecture, with a planned 2028 debut. However, it has not been linked with any consumer-grade products, not even by leakers.

Furthermore, the document skips the RTX 70 series entirely, jumping straight from Rubin-based RTX 60 GPUs to Feynman-based RTX 80 models. On AMD’s side, the roadmap references RDNA 7 while seemingly skipping RDNA 6. However, the name isn’t particularly revealing, as AMD executive Jack Huynh already discussed RDNA 5, RDNA 6, and RDNA 7 in 2024 while outlining the company’s long-term graphics architecture plans.

The document incorrectly associates RDNA 5 with the Radeon RX 9000 series, which actually uses RDNA 4. Intel’s Celestial discrete GPUs are also shown launching in 2025, despite no such consumer products materialising. To make matters worse, the cancelled Falcon Shores accelerator remains on the roadmap, alongside references to Intel’s Druid architecture, which is said to be in flux, but not entirely cancelled.

Some entries also appear to span six years, although Moore’s Law is Dead points out that these likely represent product lifetimes and not intervals between GPU generations. Tom acknowledges the document’s shortcomings, suggesting it may have originated in 2024 before receiving incomplete updates for the 2026 presentation. In other words, even if the slide is genuine, its contents may not reflect current development plans.

That uncertainty extends to Nvidia’s more immediate GPU roadmap. Moore’s Law is Dead has repeatedly suggested that the RTX 6090 could arrive in 2027, with the alleged Broadcom presentation seemingly reinforcing that prediction. However, prominent leakers Kopite7kimi and Kepler_L2 disagree, maintaining that Nvidia’s Rubin-based gaming GPUs will not arrive until 2028.

AMD’s immediate successor to RDNA 4 could also be further away than previously anticipated. Kepler_L2 recently suggested that RDNA 5 might not even be announced until the second half of 2027. Furthermore, only the AT2 GPU is reportedly expected in 2027, with the flagship AT0 and other models following in 2028.

The shifting GPU timelines could also have implications for the next generation of gaming consoles. Sony continues to support the PS5 and PS5 Pro while working with AMD on Project Amethyst, which is expected to influence future PlayStation hardware. Meanwhile, Microsoft’s next-generation Xbox, Project Helix, will use a custom AMD SoC, with development hardware scheduled to reach studios in 2027 and a commercial launch reportedly targeting late 2028.

Of course, neither console’s development schedule necessarily reflects AMD’s desktop GPU roadmap. Nevertheless, with the RTX 60 series and RDNA 5 still surrounded by conflicting rumours, the alleged RTX 80 and RDNA 7 references offer little concrete insight into what comes next. For now, the purported Broadcom presentation raises more questions than it answers.
