Reviews for the Nubia Z60 Ultra Leading Version
Even though the Nubia Z60 Ultra is still relatively new, an improved version is already being reissued. Due to Nubia's primary focus on improving the device with a speedier SoC and a new camera sensor, the two models are very identical in terms of design. Check out the review to see if these changes have improved the already excellent budget flagship.

The Nubia Z60 Ultra Leading Version delivers outstanding performance and stunning photos. A 50Mp Sony 9-series main camera gets combined with an 18mm ultra-wide and 85mm telephoto lens to deliver some excellent snaps. There’s a massive battery and plenty of AI features that sit alongside it, but frustrating software and design issues stop it from being the perfect flagship.

Despite being an "ultra," the Nubia Z60 Ultra Leading Version is actually cheaper than most basic flagship phones, even though it comes with the latest chipset, a huge battery and a big display along with some hi-res camera hardware. But it's not as well-rounded as the competition, especially when it comes to its software and capturing colors in its photos.

The Nubia Z60 Ultra Leading Version is a bold and powerful flagship phone that combines a distinctive design with cutting-edge features. From its flat-sided, slab-like architecture to the impressive specs under the hood, this phone stands out in both form and function. Nubia's design language for the Z60 Ultra is unapologetically bold, with sharp corners and a striking rear camera block that features dual protrusions for added lens space. The 6.8-inch AMOLED display is another highlight, offering a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 1,500 nits. This is bright enough to rival high-end competitors like the Galaxy S24 Ultra and Pixel 9 Pro XL, and it’s equipped with 2160Hz PWM dimming to reduce eye strain. However, the display’s resolution of 1116 pixels falls just short of Full HD, which may disappoint some users expecting flagship-grade sharpness. At the heart of the Z60 Ultra is the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Leading Version chipset, offering substantial power and AI capabilities. The chipset ensures smooth performance, especially for demanding tasks and apps like Genshin Impact, which runs smoothly even at max settings. However, the phone does struggle with heat management under load, as it tends to get quite hot during extended gaming sessions. The phone offers up to 16GB of RAM, which, combined with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, delivers excellent multitasking and gaming performance, though it’s outpaced slightly by competitors like the Galaxy S24 in benchmarks.
The Nubia Z60 Ultra boasts a massive 6,000mAh battery, which is larger than most flagship phones. Despite its size, the phone’s battery efficiency could be better. In testing, 3 hours of video playback consumed 19% of the battery, which is slightly less efficient than similar models like the Galaxy S24 Ultra. However, it does support 80W fast charging, capable of charging the phone from 0 to 30% in just 15 minutes and 100% in 59 minutes—though the large battery size means it could take a little longer to charge compared to smaller devices. The camera setup includes a 50MP main camera, 64MP telephoto with 2.4x optical zoom, and a 12MP under-display front camera. While the camera performance is solid, it sometimes struggles with color accuracy and contrast, especially compared to rivals like the Galaxy S24 or Pixel 9 Pro XL. Nonetheless, the Z60 Ultra captures detailed images with a higher level of definition than some competitors, especially in well-lit conditions. The under-display front camera is innovative but still imperfect, as it doesn’t deliver the same quality as traditional front-facing cameras. The Nubia Z60 Ultra Leading Version impresses with its powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, large battery, and innovative design features like the under-display camera. While it may not lead the pack in display resolution or camera performance, its overall value is high, particularly for users who prioritize performance and battery life. With its bold design and solid performance, the Z60 Ultra is a strong contender in the flagship phone market.

Qualcomm Adreno 750: Graphics chip for smartphones and tablets that is integrated within the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC. Qualcomm claims that it is 25% faster than the Adreno 7340 in the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and first benchmarks show that the GPU can beat the Apple A17 Pro iGPU.
Modern games should be playable with these graphics cards at low settings and resolutions. Casual gamers may be happy with these cards.

It is a small display format for smartphones. You shouldn't be severely defective in vision, and you won't see much detail on the screen and only have a small resolution available. For that, the device should be small and handy, easy to transport.

This rating must actually be seen as average, since there are about as many devices with worse ratings as better ones. A purchase recommendation can only be seen with a lot of goodwill, unless it is about websites that generally rate strictly.
