Speaking to Gamereactor at San Diego Comic-Con’s Malaga event, Walking Dead star Norman Reedus, a close collaborator of Hideo Kojima and the star of the Death Stranding franchise, praised Kojima Productions’ forthcoming Xbox-backed horror OD while singling out Udo Kier as one of the 'most interesting' people he had met.

San Diego Comic-Con’s first licensed international expansion in the Palacio de Ferias y Congresos de Malaga from September 25 to 28, 2025, featured a star-studded panel for AMC’s The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, which drew massive crowds.

Just before taking the stage alongside co-star Melissa McBride, who reprises her role as Carol, Norman Reedus spoke to Gamereactor for an exclusive interview that veered off from Season 3 to his current ventures in the gaming world.

Norman Reedus is iconic for his role as Sam Porter Bridges in Death Stranding 2: On the Beach and has close ties with Hideo Kojima and Kojima Productions. When asked about Kojima’s upcoming Xbox Game Studios-backed horror title, OD, Reedus couldn’t hide his enthusiasm.

Kojima Productions revealed a chilling teaser trailer for OD dubbed “KNOCK” during the studio’s 10th anniversary during the “Beyond The Strand” livestream on September 22, 2025, alongside a debut poster for PlayStation-exclusive Physint.

Reedus said:

“He’s got a really good cast in that. And Udo is in that right? Udo Kier. So, Udo is an old friend of mine. I did a movie with him ages ago, a John Carpenter film called Masters of Horror. And Udo is one of the most interesting people I think I’ve ever met.”

Norman Reedus further dissected the debut trailer for OD and revealed some interesting details:

“You know, that thing that was in the trailer where they’re like 'the fluffy pink bunny’ or whatever that is. That’s actually vocal exercises you do. So when I first saw the trailer, it was just that.

But there was such an intensity to it. I was like, this is going to be really terrifying. He could read the phone book, and whatever Hideo puts into it is going to be very, very strategically him.”

For now, OD is far from release, as the game is expected to launch in 2027, with key details regarding the game still shrouded in mystery.

Co-written by Get Out director Jordan Peele, OD seems to be an immersive descent into photo-realistic terror, bearing resemblance to the aborted P.T. demo, which was released on the PlayStation 4 in 2014 and was directed by Hideo Kojima and Guillermo del Toro under the alias “7780s Studios.”
