Update | Nokia G11 Plus will launch with more RAM and Android 12 out of the box
Update: Nokia has now announced the G11 Plus via its website, confirming that its owes its new moniker to more RAM and Android 12 out of the box, as anticipated below. Then again, it does also upgrade to a main shooter, although it avoids stepping on the G21's toes too much in that it now has just 2 rear cameras, the second being a 2MP depth-sensor. However, the new G11 has yet to be actually released with a starting price as yet.
Original Article: HMD Global has already launched the Nokia G11 smartphone in 2022; now, the OEM might have a new variant for those with slightly more money to spend. On the other hand, it may be up to the individual consumer to decide how much this new Plus version (or G11+) deserves its new moniker.
Rumors surrounding this putative new-ish phone has arisen thanks to a (less than subtle) new Geekbench leak of an alleged "HMD Global Nokia G11 Plus". It seems to have the exact same SoC specs as the Unisoc T606 (an ARM processor with 8 cores at 1.61GHz) - however, it runs Android 12 rather than the 11 of the G11.
The "G11+" also has 4GB of RAM, whereas the G11 was restricted to 3 at its launch. Therefore, should its potential Plus upgrade truly launch soon, it could end its life on Android 14 rather than 13.
Then again, considering that there is already a 4GB smartphone with its exact specs and an upgraded 50MP main rear camera around in the G21, Nokia may have to strike a careful balance with the G11+'s pricing should it actually exist.
