The Nokia 8 is billed to go on sale on July 31. It's also expected to have a price tag in the region of $675, which isn't a bad deal by any means.

Update: Apparently, Nokia has started sending out invites for an event scheduled for August 16. This is most likely the official launch event of the Nokia 8.

HMD Global recently agreed to a partnership with ZEISS that will see upcoming Nokia devices feature excellent Carl Zeiss optical hardware. Nokia's new device, the Nokia 8, is unlikely to come with that perk, though, especially since it's billed to go on sale on July 31.

The Nokia 8, previously referred to as the Nokia 9, will be the first Nokia flagship—Microsoft devices duly ignored—in eons, and fans of the brand are set to get something reminiscent of the older devices that made the brand so well-loved.

The Nokia 8 will kick-off the second batch of flagship devices this year, alongside the Pixel 2 devices, the LG V30, and the Moto Z2 Force. Like most of its competitors, it's powered by a Snapdragon 835. It also features dual rear cameras, up to 8GB of RAM, and a 5.3" QHD display. Nothing to sneeze at, really.

A Scandinavian retailer has reportedly claimed that the phone will go on sale on July 31, and with a price tag of €589 ($675) to boot. In comparison, the Samsung Galaxy S8 sells for $750, and the Pixels can be expected to sell for $800+.

We'll be sure to keep you updated if anything new comes up.
