Rumours about the arrival of a new Nokia 6-series smartphone have been circulating for a while, with the Nokia 6.3 originally expected to arrive in Q4 2020. That did not come to pass, but Steve Hemmerstoffer (OnLeaks) has now published CAD renders of the upcoming handset.
Hemmerstoffer is unsure if HMD Global will call the device the Nokia 6.3 or Nokia 6.4, but he believes that it will arrive no later than April 2021. In truth, the device resembles the Nokia 6.2, with a few tweaks in keeping with the design language of recent Nokia smartphones like the Nokia 8.3 5G. The release of the Nokia 2.4, Nokia 3.4 and Nokia 5.4 suggest that HMD Global will call its next smartphone the Nokia 6.4, though.

Regardless, the device will have a 6.45-inch display intersected with a waterdrop notch and a sizeable bottom bezel. Hemmerstoffer has revealed any camera specifics of the device, but previous rumours state that HMD Global has chosen a 24 MP primary camera, along with a 12 MP ultra-wide-angle sensor and two 2 MP sensors.
The device will measure 164.9 x 76.8 x 9.2 mm, while the camera housing will protrude by another 0.9 mm from the back case. The latter is relatively clean as HMD Global has moved the fingerprint scanner to the frame, which sits below the volume rocker. The fingerprint scanner doubles as a power button, but there is also a third button to trigger the Google Assistant.
As far as we can tell, HMD Global has included a mono speaker, which is joined by a USB Type-C port and a 3.5 mm headphone jack. There is no word on other features yet, but we would expect these to leak as we get closer to April.
