Nintendo launches exclusive Zelda 40th anniversary pin set for 800 Platinum Points in the US

Nintendo has added a Legend of Zelda 40th anniversary pin set to its Nintendo Store in the US, arriving alongside the release of Ocarina of Time on Nintendo Switch 2. The two-pin set is priced at 800 My Nintendo Platinum Points, and buyers pay shipping on top of the points cost.
One pin carries the series’ 40th anniversary logo, while the second reproduces the logo of the Ocarina of Time remake. The pins measure 2 inches by 1.5 inches and 1.25 inches by 2 inches, and they ship in a 6-by-4-inch package. Nintendo limits the set to one order per account and has not given an end date or stock figures.
Platinum Points are earned rather than bought. Members collect them by completing missions on the My Nintendo service and in Nintendo’s smart device apps, while Nintendo Switch Online subscribers can also pick up regular Platinum Points by completing missions on Switch 2 or Switch. The points expire at the end of the month six months after they are earned and cannot be transferred to another account.
Nintendo also added seven songs from the remake’s soundtrack to Nintendo Music, its streaming app for Nintendo Switch Online members, and made new user icons available. The remake’s new title theme first appeared on the service in September, after the Zelda 40th Anniversary Direct. Nintendo Music already hosts the 82-track Nintendo 64 soundtrack and the 51-track score from Ocarina of Time 3D.
A Super Mario 40th anniversary pin set, which paired Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario Galaxy 2 artwork with a Super Mario Bros. anniversary pin, went on the North American store for 600 Platinum Points in March. Nintendo added a desktop metal display of the original NES Legend of Zelda to the same store in September for 1,000 Platinum Points.
The Legend of Zelda series turned 40 on February 21, four decades after the original game launched alongside the Famicom Disk System in Japan in 1986. Nintendo released a Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Edition Switch 2 console on October 29, and the Ocarina of Time remake launched on November 5 at $59.99 digitally and $69.99 physically. A Zelda concert tour is scheduled for 2027.
