Nintendo just updated their Nintendo Switch Online retro console offering showcasing new games in their "Super NES — March 2025" video posted March 20, 2025. Included are four games from Koei Tecmo, including Nobunaga, which also happens to be someone who is a key character in Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed: Shadows. The list of games is as follows below.
Nobunaga's Ambition is a strategic turn-based strategy game that was one of the first of its kind. Its strategic combat has you commanding armies to try to unite Japan. There are several historical scenarios with powerful daimyos (also known as lords/generals) to choose from, shaping the story depending on your choice.
Nobunaga's Ambition: Lord of Darkness was the fourth title in the Nobunaga series, further updating various mechanics in the series.
Romance of the Three Kingdoms IV: Wall of Fire is a strategy sim involving managing your city and armies as you work to unite China under one ruler. You must manage food, your people's happiness, and more as each turn the other lords do their actions, similar to Sid Meier's Civilization.
Uncharted Waters: New Horizons is the second game in the Uncharted Waters series. The game is another historical sim, this time involving pirates. There's a heavy focus on sailing and has many aspects of sea faring from the time period the game is set in. It also includes a dueling mini-game option that can sometimes replace the normal battles that take place between fleets of ships.
You can enjoy all four of these games now on Nintendo's SNES app, amongst many others, or watch the video posted below for more information on the four games included in this recent update.
