The leaked photos suggest a very thin design and a 5.7-inch display.

Chinese social media networks have supposedly leaked the upcoming Galaxy A8 phablet from Samsung. The leaks come from multiple sources that have congregated to nowhereelse.fr. Like other models from the Galaxy A series, Samsung is keeping the profile as thin as possible.

The photos compare the Galaxy A8 and the 6.3 mm Galaxy A7 side-by-side. The A7 is equipped with a 5.5-inch 1080p display, while the alleged A8 will have slightly larger dimensions at 157.7 x 76.7 x 5.9 mm and weigh 140 grams. Thus, it is likely that the A8 will ship with a larger 5.7-inch display.

Furthermore, the Galaxy A8 may carry an 8-core Snapdragon 615 SoC with 2 GB RAM, 16 GB SSD, and a 3050 mAh battery. The front and rear cameras are expected to be 5 MP and 16 MP, respectively, with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop.

After graduating with a B.S. in environmental hydrodynamics from the University of California, I studied reactor physics to become licensed by the U.S. NRC to operate nuclear reactors. There's a striking level of appreciation you gain for everyday consumer electronics after working with modern nuclear reactivity systems astonishingly powered by computers from the 80s.
