Recent reports suggest that apart from realeasing its Galaxy S6 Edge Plus and Galaxy Note 5 in the coming months, Samsung is also planning to launch the Galaxy S7 flagship model much earlier than previously expected. South Korean media claim that the successor of the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge might have its premiere by the end of 2015.
According to the rumours, Samsung has begun work on Galaxy S7 approximately 2-3 months ahead of schedule. The previous Galaxy S models were always launched in the first half of the year. Should the reports regarding Galaxy S7 turn out to be true, this would be the first time when two Galaxy S models would launch in the same year.
As for the specifications, there’s significant possibility that Samsung may include its own custom cores in Galaxy S7. They will most likely by still manufactured with 14 nm FinFET process.
Apart from realeasing a full range of flagship-class smartphones, Samsung is also expected to release the Galaxy Tab S2 tablet, probably with the company’s own Exynos 7420 SoC (which also powers both Galaxy S6 models).
