New leak shows specs of Nokia 6, which might debut this Friday
Nokia made quite the comeback last year under the new owners of the brand, HMD Global, and it doesn't look like the Nordic company is going to stop anytime soon. We caught word that the Nokia 6 had passed through China's telecom regulatory organization, TENAA, last month. Now, a leak from the same organization might give us a detailed look at the exact specs of the handset, and they're no slouch.
If the leak is to be believed, the 2018 version of the Nokia 6 is expected to have:
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 SoC (octa-core)
- Adreno 508 GPU
- 4 GB RAM
- 32 or 64 GB storage
- microSD support up to 128 GB
- 16 MP rear camera
- 8 MP front camera
- 5.5" FHD display
- 3,000 mAh battery
The 2018 Nokia 6 might be available in blue, black, or white and will likely ship with Android 7.1 (with a possible upgrade to Android 8.0 Oreo). Most rumor mills are pegging the display at a standard 16:9 aspect ratio, although a few (like plafuldroid.com) are saying it'll be an extra-tall 18:9 screen.
That's a lot of maybes, but we may get confirmation of this information as soon as Friday. HMD has already announced a product launch event for January 19th, but the buzz around mobile phone sites is that the event has either been pushed up or another event will be held on January 5th. Either way, we'll know the future of the mid-range Nokia phone line later this month.
