Xiaomi is set to launch a new entry-level device soon. The phone, the Redmi 10, appeared on a retail page last week but a new leak has now confirmed most of those details, as well as revealing a few extra bits about the phone ahead of launch.
The Redmi 10 will sport a 6.5-inch FHD+ 90 Hz LCD, with a centered hole punch. The display offers a variable refresh rate, being able to switch between 45 Hz, 60 Hz, and 90 Hz depending on what's being displayed. It's not much but it's honest work. Under the hood will be a Helio G88, aided by up to 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage.
Design looks to be a major selling point of the Redmi 10, as it sports a camera module that looks quite similar to that of last year's Mi 10 Ultra. That should make it an even more attractive proposition in a highly competitive segment of the market.
The budget phone will sport a 50 MP main camera, an 8 MP ultra-wide-angle camera, a 2 MP macro camera, and a 2 MP depth sensor. The selfie shooter is an 8 MP sensor. Supplying juice is a 5000 mAh battery, with 18 W wired charging and 9 W reverse wired charging. Interestingly, though, the Redmi 10 will ship with a 22.5 W brick. A 3.5 mm headphone jack, dual speakers, and a side-mounted fingerprint reader complete the spec sheet.
The Redmi 10 will run Android 11-based MIUI 12.5 out of the box. Pricing is unconfirmed but appears to start at US$184.99 for the 4/64 GB SKU, with the 6/128 GB model possibly going for US$249.99. The phone will be available in color options of Carbon Gray, Sea Blue, and Pebble White.
