Solo Leveling: Arise Overdrive, Netmarble Neo’s adaptation of the hugely popular Solo Leveling anime and webtoon, is now gaining traction on Steam’s Trending New Releases charts after its late-November 2025 launch. The action-RPG has caught players' attention with third-person combat, co-op raids, and plentiful references to the source material that many fans have been waiting for.
The game officially arrived on November 24, 2025 for PC via Steam and Xbox platforms, with early access available to Deluxe Edition buyers a few days earlier. It retells the journey of Sung Jinwoo, where you start as an E-Rank hunter and follow his destiny as the Monarch of Shadows, while also adding original story beats.
Arise Overdrive is all about fast, combo-driven combat where dodging, parrying, and weapon switching are key to taking down monsters and dungeon bosses. Players get to advance through a branching skill tree with eight job paths and unlock powerful Monarch abilities that shape how battles play out. A crafting system lets hunters create weapons inspired by the world of Solo Leveling, and 4-player co-op raids should encourage teamwork in tougher encounters.
The game also supports a solo experience alongside its multiplayer modes and includes online features like achievements and family sharing. Some players also mention that Arise Overdrive doesn’t have the gacha mechanics seen in other Solo Leveling titles. Instead, the title is more about progression through combat and exploration.
In the U.S., the base version is priced at $39.99 on Steam, with a Deluxe Edition available for around $44.99 that includes cosmetic extras and helper items like the Yaruru companion. Regarding user reviews, the game is currently sitting at a "Mostly Positive" review aggregate on Steam, with over a thousand reviews contributing to that sentiment. Recent reviews are also pretty positive, especially among English-language players. However, not all feedback is glowing; some players don't like repetitive missions, grind-heavy progression, and technical hiccups that temper gameplay. Metacritic critic scores also reflect this mix with an "average" consensus.
Arise Overdrive also shows solid player engagement, with peak concurrent Steam player counts approaching 13,000 during busy weekends. However, the game does require a reasonably capable PC setup - a mid-range GPU like an RTX 2060 and around 16 GB of RAM is recommended for smooth performance. Furthermore, the Steam page marks Solo Leveling: Arise Overdrive as Steam Deck (curr. $850 on Amazon for the 1TB/OLED variant) playable, and community reports confirm that it indeed launches on the handheld. However, please note that performance on Deck isn’t perfect out of the box.
