Toyota has unveiled the C-HR+, a new battery electric vehicle. This model is described as an electric coupe-SUV, with a design based on a combination of the brand’s C-HR plug-in hybrid and its Compact SUV concept. The company notes that the ‘+’ symbol in the name represents versatility.
The Toyota C-HR+ is built-in on the e-TNGA BEV platform, with customers offered a choice of front-wheel drive (FWD) and all-wheel drive (AWD) options, and 57.7 kWh and 77 kW batteries. Toyota claims that the AWD version, only available with the larger battery, will be one of the most powerful models in its European range; it has up to 343 DIN horsepower (252 kW), accelerating from 0 to 100 km (~62 mph) in 5.2 seconds. By comparison, the FWD model with a 57.7 kWh battery delivers 167 DIN hp (123 kW), and the 77 kWh battery variant offers 224 DIN hp (165 kW).
The EVs come with an 11 kW charger as standard, with a 22 kW option available on the High trim. According to the company, the WLTP range is up to 600 km (~373 miles), though further testing is required. Other standard features include a Blind Spot Monitor and Adaptive High-beam System headlights, with the High trim also offering Park Assistant and Panoramic View Monitor.
The model is 4,520 mm long with a 2,750 mm wheelbase, allowing for a spacious cabin with a 416 L trunk. Inside, there is a 14-inch multimedia display, two wireless smartphone chargers with USB ports at the rear, and a panoramic roof. Plus, users will be able to monitor their vehicle through the MyToyota app. The Toyota C-HR+ will launch in some European markets later this year, with a full rollout in this region scheduled for 2026. However, the company has yet to reveal the pricing of its new EV. Toyota also recently announced a refresh for the bZ4X.
