Over the years, many smartphone OEMs have tried to foray into the lucrative Indian laptop market, with varying degrees of success. Now, Motorola wants to enter the fray. The company posted a cryptic teaser that simply said, "A bold new world of laptops. Unveiling soon." It doesn't reveal much of...anything, really.
For now, the teaser leaves us with more questions than answers. However, there's a good chance Motorola's offerings could end up being reskinned Lenovo SKUs. And that isn't necessarily a bad thing because Lenovo knows a thing or two about how to make decent laptops. Of course, it will all come down to price, which will prove to be tricky because there's a real risk of Motorola undercutting its parent company.
Strictly speaking, Motorola is no stranger to laptops, but it has been over fifteen years since they launched one. Plus, that iteration of Motorola no longer exists. For now, the launch appears to be India-only, and there's no telling if any of the laptops will be available globally.
