New Garmin wearable could offer enhanced workout tracking

A new rumor suggests that the Garmin CIRQA Smart Band could offer enhanced workout tracking. The wrist-worn wearable has been rumored since the start of 2026, when the product briefly appeared on the brand’s Canadian website.
In a recent Reddit post, which has since been deleted, one user indicated that the CIRQA Smart Band could be used alongside a Garmin smartwatch, like the Fenix 8 (51 mm AMOLED curr. $849.99 at Amazon), for improved workout monitoring. It seems that users would be recommended to wear the two devices on opposite wrists.
When the two Garmin products are used together, it has been suggested that the automatic workout detection function would be enhanced. For example, when running outdoors, the CIRQA and smartwatch would automatically detect a run and trigger GPS tracking. Users would be able to choose between fully automatic tracking or a workout detection alert, which would require a manual ‘start’ input.
The Redditor also implied that using the two wearables could reduce the amount of missing activity data. However, it seems likely that the Garmin CIRQA will still be able to operate as a standalone device. Its features are expected to include the ability to track health metrics and your recovery from a workout. As Gadgets and Wearables notes, it is worth taking this information with a pinch of salt, given that the Reddit user did not provide any evidence for this claim. Garmin has yet to officially announce the CIRQA Smart Band and its features. The release date and pricing of this wearable are also yet to be confirmed.
